It’s funny that one of my most popular and road tested amps turns out to be perhaps the simplest one of them all.<\/p>\n

Turns out that is entirely possible to build a nice little amp for less than 100 dollar bill, but the thing I found was that the desire for the simple amp was not as great as the various custom mods that folks were asking for. After this fling ran it’s course and I had built a few, I put this project to rest because the custom requests defeated my efforts to make this $100 amp package. Just one of the many ideas that didn’t quite turn out the way I thought it would.<\/p>\n

I built a couple of these and still have at least one of them around for the occasions where I want to tinker with a minimal sized tube amp. One of the other mistakes I made in marketing these was to create a tube hanger version and a tubes up version. It is too simple of an amp to merit the optional versions.<\/p>\n

I found these photos of my prototype. I think it was the one that I made into a finished head and sent off to market.<\/p>\n

I packaged this up in a nice little head cab and made a custom faceplate for a guy named Woody that played in a country band. This was his main amp until I sold him one of my Eagle Supre amps.<\/p>\n
